I’m a huge London fan and am already plotting my next hop over the “Pond”. I’ve done a good chunk of the touristy things and want to sink my teeth into more of the “real” London next time. But with so many choices, how to pick out where to spend my British Pounds? I could email locals Chris or Mrs O for tips, but there’s another knowledgeable resource to consult – Triptease.
During my most recent trip to lovely London, I met up with Chris from Triptease. I was already tripteasing, but it’s always fun to get to know the face behind the site. Originally recommended to me by fellow Luxury Travel Blog Network blogger, Mrs O Around The World, I started using Triptease while they were still in private beta. Now publically launched, the site is going strong. For those who don’t know Triptease, it’s a fresh take on travel reviews, no more lame Trip Advisor reviews. They focus on visual, story-lead reviews of places worth sharing with the world. Perfect for Instagram-addicts like me!
Whether you’re flying to London soon or just in need of a little British wanderlust, here are some lesser known London hotels which have caught my eye.
Hoxton Hotel – This hotel in London’s trendy Shoreditch sounds incredible. I haven’t spent all that much time in East London – this looks like the perfect base from which to explore.
40 Winks – Pretty difficult to get a reservation as 40 Winks only has two bedrooms. They also host ‘Bedtime Story’ nights which sound pretty fun. Pyjama clad guests drink English Hendrick’s gin from teacups while listening to a classic bedtime story. Wow!
The Soho Hotel – The same group that brought you Crosby Street in New York have a few hotels in London. I love the sound of The Soho Hotel (I wonder which British celebrities you might see there?)
Dean Street Townhouse – Back home in New York, Soho House is pretty big news. In London, they have a few places you can stay in. Dean Street looks awesome.
St. Pancras Renaissance – This hotel is super famous in London, but I couldn’t resist putting it on my list as it’s lesser known overseas. It’s so grand. Would love to (temporarily) call it home. Do you recognize it from the Spice Girls’ video, Wannabe?
