New York City Local Favorite: Ovenly Gives Me a Reason to Head to Brooklyn!
Last week a co-worker brought in a few bags of spicy bacon caramel corn to the office. He told me I would swoon for the sweet and salty perfection–and boy was he right! And it was also spicy! A triple threat! This magnificent creation is the work of two brilliant babe bakers over at Ovenly bakery in BK. I know I was a little hard on Brooklyn a couple weeks ago but I have to say, this popcorn is worth a trip across the river!
The sweet and savory goodies will have you drooling after just one bite. Ovenly has tons of creative treats like the apricot thyme scone and also some classics like chocolate chip cookies with a creative twist–added sea salt (this earned them the nod of best baked good in New York by Eater! Shh, they’re vegan!) We also love that they use natural and sustainable ingredients without any artificial flavors or preservatives. The owners want to take your tastebuds on an adventure. Well, sign me up!
If you don’t feel like venturing out to BK though you’re in luck because some of Ovenly’s goods are sold at Joe coffee throughout the city. We have also heard a few rumors that they may be making their way to Manhattan…fingers crossed!
