The Most Romantic Tour in Paris: Tours by Cedric
One of my favorite things I did while in Paris was an evening 2CV tour through Cédric’s Paris. Cédric is so charming that it’s nearly impossible not to fall in love with him…err I mean his tour of Paris. Cédric, a Parisien local and firefighter is one of the most knowledgeable people I met during my stay (also one of the most smokin’ ring the fire alarm, ladies!). Husband’s, make sure your ladies really love you before embarking on a romantic tour with Romeo, err, Cédric. I kid, Cédric is as professional as can be and really takes you on the ride of your life through Paris, the city of lights! It was a night I will not soon forget. I loved seeing Paris from this original and unique perspective.
Truth be told, I almost canceled our tour with Cédric because I was just exhausted. I had just had so many long days filled with meetings that for a moment I just wanted to relax for one evening. I am so glad though that I kept this appointment because it turned out to be one of the most magical experiences I had in Paris and actually in any city.
Cédric arrives in his classic French 2CV and picks you up at a location that is convenient for you. We had him pick us up at Chez Josephine Dumonet after dinner one evening. We received an email when he arrived that he was waiting outside but that we could take our time. When we walked outside, we were greeted by an extremely friendly Cédric who introduced himself and was as kind as could be. After speaking to him for just a few minutes it was clear how passionate he was about Paris and how important it was for him to show his clients a good time. I was pumped!
As we climbed into the back seat, Cédric popped open the chilled champagne he had waiting for us and poured us each a glass. The weather was a bit chilly but there was no way in hell I was putting the roof on–it was so romantic all cuddled up in the back seat with champagne. After making sure we were comfortable, we were off.
It was not only the most romantic activity that I did while it Paris, it was also the most relaxing. We drove through Paris’ nicest squares, passed by the city’s most beautiful monuments (The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, The Louvre), we discovered little villages like la Cite, la Butte aux Cailles and got lost on the tiny streets of The Latin Quarter, le Marais and Montmartre–all while sipping champagne and being regaled with interesting history by Cedric.
Cédric had planned the itinerary based on where we said we wanted to go and I honestly felt like seeing the city at night gave it an entirely different feeling. Cedric also considered our pickup and dropoff location and ended the tour exactly where we were to part ways.
The price is only 30 Euros per person per hour, which I consider a deal. A bottle of French champagne is also offered for any 2 hour tour (2 adult passengers minimum). Also note, the French 2CV is a small vehicle so there is always a 3 passenger maximum.

I’ve bookmarked this for our next trip to Paris. That tour with Cedric looks great, and honestly, quite affordable for what it looks like you get.
- April 5, 2013It was really wonderful. And Cedric was great. I think he’s one of those people that guys think is super cool and girls love as well, which is important when it’s just you and him in a small car for 2 hours. 🙂 Brilliant experience. Really loved it.
- April 6, 2013Just a note that price looks to have gone up since this was written. Now starts at 190 euros for two people for two hours at night. But sounds worth it! Thanks for the tip.
- July 28, 2014Thanks for letting us know! Appreciate the comment! And I know my readers will too.
- August 11, 2014This is probably one of the best way to visit Paris with a local. I agree with Lucy, prices seems to have gone up but this is the city of lights we are talking about and a truely unique experience. Definitely worth it!
- January 31, 2016We happen to agree!
